Palm Springs In The Name of Love

Palm Springs. A private 1920’s hotel. Perfect weather. California glamor. Synchronized swimmers. Coozies. Flowers and palms.

Pretty much all you need to know about the one of a kind wedding of my friend Ellen that we were lucky enough to get to attend a few months ago. It’s Valentine’s Day, and I thought, why not look back at the celebration of their love? The photos don’t even do it justice, it was just SO pretty. The weekend began by everyone gathering in the Colonial Palms Hotel, which was reserved for the weekend only for wedding guests. It is a quaint compound, but only “quaint” in the way Palm Springs can be, built off of its gangster Hollywood history with innate attention to every detail. The rooms were cozy with luxurious beds and bathrooms. The compound is a square, encapsulating a restaurant lounge, garden and pool that the rooms’ balconies all overlook. The aged palms and flowering plants are back-dropped by the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountain ranges, leading to seriously breathtaking cotton candy sunsets. This entire weekend was the perfect combination of secret garden party, Hollywood glam, clinking bubbly, perfect weather, and gorgeous scenery to stop everyone in their tracks in the name of love.
