Since I was just talking about my love for October, my birthday month, I should also point out that a good handful of my best friends also have October birthdays. Katie, Emily, Ro… and I could go on. Since Emily’s was yesterday, I thought this would be a great time to show the world the adorable shower that her mom and other relatives and friends threw her the last time she was in town. Emily and her husband currently live in London so they aren’t around to celebrate too often. Baby N is due NEXT month and I’m so excited to finally share this wonderful day we spent celebrating him! The shower was entirely children’s book themed, including the buffet food, decorations and party favors – bookmarks! Instead of cards everyone brought a book to help Emily and Darren build a nursery library.

This day was filled with so much love, joy, and celebration of life. A lot of our friends from all over the country were able to make it, her childhood friends were there, and tons and tons of family! So much so that we rented out a two story art gallery to host everyone. There were babies, so many presents, champagne, treats and just general excitement that Emily’s Irish husband was momentarily completely taken aback at all of the love. (He quickly got over it when he started rifling through the presents.) They just bought a new house and all of those gifts are going into an adorable elephant themed nursery. So sweet. That same weekend we also did an impromptu (amateur) pregnancy photoshoot around Kansas City and the results are pretty adorable. We went to Union Station, a walking bridge over the train tracks in The Crossroads, and the World War I Memorial park to get some great views of the city. This little family couldn’t be any cuter and I am so excited for them.  There are a ton of pictures in this post but I couldn’t help it, I wanted to share them all! Enjoy!
